You've set aside the time. You've paid the fees. The next step is to make sure you have an eye-catching, memorable booth that shares your message and attracts the clients you want. Being memorable doesn't have to cost a fortune or take a lot of time to create. One of the most important tips for creating your booth space is to make sure the design is aligned with your brand from ceiling to floor.
You want people to remember you. If you hand out a business card or flyers with a design that is not represented in your booth design, your future client won't make the connection. If your old logo featured a bubbly design and was used on your rack cards but you've since updated to a more modern angular design that was used in your banner, backdrop or other display feature your client may not be able to connect the rack card to the informative, friendly person they met at "that one booth". Cohesiveness is key.
You may see some booths that look really impressive with bright colors, lights, and tech like screens or music. It's great for catching eyes, but if it doesn't speak to their brand, you may walk away thinking, "Who were they and what the heck do they do?" As you work on developing your presences, remember to ask yourself that question as well.
Take a moment to step back and look at your overall booth. Does it represent your brand? Is it cohesive? Do the pieces "fit"? And most importantly, can someone look at your booth and understand what it is you do, or do you have to explain it? Next, hold your flyers, cards and any giveaways. When you look at these takeaways, can you picture your booth? Trade shows give you a chance to connect with clients face to face. More than just remembering the booth, your future clients will remember you! You'll work hard to build foundations for future business partnerships at a trade show, so make sure they walkaway with something that represents you and your brand well while setting you apart from others in the field.
Finally, give people who visit your booth a way to interact with you, your brand, or your product. A hands-on element leaves a greater impression than a well-designed booth alone. Hands-on could mean product for your future client to test out, creative selfie cut-outs or stand-ups for them to snap a picture with (doubles as grassroots marketing when they share it on their social media accounts!), fun giveaways, or informational flyers that are immersive and easy to understand.
Keep it basic or go all out, just make sure you keep the focus on you and your brand.
