Chelsea had the pleasure of presenting to students at Fenton High School today

Before Ms. Chelsea Mills, owner of Behind Your Design in Fenton, came in to talk about branding and marketing for our company, I had no idea the importance of it and how essential it was for a company to thrive. Within the span of the class she taught us about branding and marketing. The first impression of the company is always key and it should be minimalistic but still show off our company in a unique way. Ms. Mills also showed us the significance of details, that something small can really change your perspective of a company. For example she showed us an ad that a hospital put on their elevator, it said “let today be the day to take the stairs”. They wanted to convey the importance of exercise, but this is located in a hospital and some people can’t walk and are in wheel chairs. It was not their intention, but it comes off that way. She also talked about the value of social media and media influencers. In this day and age, social media has taken over and is one of the best ways to promote Waybound. She made a suggestion to have someone dress up like a lumberjack and have them walk around and talk about Waybound during a trade show. All of these suggestions will take Waybound to the next level and will tremendously help us succeed and be able to make a profit. Thanks to Ms. Chelsea Mills, everyone in VEI will have the knowledge to brand and market Waybound and maybe even our own company in the future.
